Accounting Specialist

JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE

The role of the Accounting Specialist is responsible for facilitating and performing a variety of complex accounting functions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General accounting
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Payroll
  • Reporting
  • Bank reconciliations on a periodic basis
  • Maintaining all administrative activities of the accounting department
  • Interacting with banks and vendors to resolve reconciliation problems, and performing all Other responsibilities as directed
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains logs and ledgers to facilitate period close
  • Assists the management team in preparing financial reports, records, and bills for the Corporate office
  • Facilitates accounts receivable functions such as preparing daily cash and sales envelopes, creating and distributing over/short notices, and auditing daily vouchers and voids
  • Facilitates accounts payable functions such as checking and processing invoices, and researching discrepancies and unpaid invoices
  • Acts as the local expert in all areas of cash handling
  • Conducts department cash audits and tracks cashier audits and blind drop audits
  • Evaluate reports and audits
  • Utilizes exception based reporting tools to identify control deficiencies and enacts procedures to minimize losses

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in using accounting software such as Client & People or similar systems
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

  • Established track record as a self-starter driven by a strong desire for success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel required.
  • Quick-thinking and decisive action.
  • Possesses strong accounting skills.

Intern - Associate Account Executive

JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE

Our internship program provides an opportunity for students to learn all facets of the agency business, with a focus on account service, creative, and public relations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with the implementation of projects for specific accounts under the direction of a supervisor
  • Conducting market research for a client or prospective client
  • Participating in creative brainstorms/strategy meetings
  • Attending client meetings and developing creative briefs
  • Providing on-site support at client events
  • Drafting content and creating editorial calendars
  • Supporting The Point Group’s social media efforts
  • Assists in building and championing the integration of the business across all competencies within TPG.
  • Takes an active role in building a positive agency culture.

Media:

  • Researching different media outlets – TV, radio, print, online, outdoor
  • Analyzing the information
  • Planning – timing, campaign goals, etc.
  • Assist in the optimization of Google AdWords campaigns – keyword research, etc.
  • Reporting of the campaign’s performance – digital reporting (delivered impressions, # of clicks, click-thru-rate)

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to deadlines, new assignments, and situations quickly
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Ad Serving Platforms, Raven Tools, and social media platforms
  • Junior or senior in college majoring in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Business
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to commit 15-20 hours per week
  • Aptitude for creative problem-solving.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
